Biofilms constitute a protected mode of growth that allows microorganisms to survival in hostile environments, being their physiology and behavior significantly different from their planktonic counterparts.  In culinary and meat industry, biofilms may be a source of recalcitrant contaminations, causing food spoilage and are possible sources of public health problems such as outbreaks of foodborne pathogens.


Biofilms are difficult to eradicate due to their resistant phenotype. However, conventional cleaning and disinfection regimens may also contribute to inefficient biofilm control and to the dissemination of resistance.  Antiozyme™ FM is a powerful foaming enzymatic detergent used to improve the hygiene of installations/equipment in the food and farming industries by reducing the risk of contamination with Listeria, Salmonella, Pseudomonas, Campylobacter, E. coli, etc. It is recommended for regular use, which must be followed by a disinfection stage.

Recommended dose: 3%

Frequency of use: Once a week

1. Use a foam gun or foaming station

2. Apply foam over all areas (walls, floor, equipment, etc.)

3. Allow 15 to 30 minutes of contact time for in-depth action

4. Scrub difficult areas as needed

5. Rinse with clean water (40-50°C/104-122ºF)

6. Apply an oxidizer-based sanitizer per the product’s label’s instructions

7. Rinse
