Nisin AP is an ultrapure Nisin A concentration powder, produced by fermentation by the bacterium Lactococcus lactis obtained from sauerkraut. It is used as an active antibacterial ingredient for therapeutic improvement and preservation in feed and healthcare products.

The treatment of atopic dermatitis (Valenta et al. 1996), Stomach ulcers (Dubois, 1995; Kim et al., 2003), respiratory tract infections (De Kwaadsteniet, Doeschate, & Dicks), Staphylococcal mastitis (Ferna´ndez et al, 2008);
Health care products such as toothpaste and skin care products, and as sanitizer against mastitis pathogens Staphylococcus and Streptococcus species (Cao, et al., 2007)
