Biofilms constitute a protected mode of growth that allows microorganisms to survival in hostile environments, being their physiology and behavior significantly different from their planktonic counterparts.  In beverage and dairy industry, biofilms may be a source of recalcitrant contaminations, causing food spoilage and are possible sources of public health problems such as outbreaks of foodborne pathogens.

 

Biofilms are difficult to eradicate due to their resistant phenotype. However, conventional cleaning and disinfection regimens may also contribute to inefficient biofilm control and to the dissemination of resistance.  Antiozyme™ CIP anti-biofilm enzyme is a new emerging solution to guarantee a biofilm-free plant and significantly improves the hygiene of CIP systems in the beverage and dairy industry by removing the risk of biofilm re-contamination (by Listeria, Salmonella, Pseudomonas, Campylobacter, E. coli, etc.).

CIP – filtration units:

1. Prepare the solution and check the pH and temperature

2. Circulate the solution through the circuit for 30 to 120 minutes

3. Finish the treatment with a disinfection stage suitable for the type of germs/micro-organisms targeted

 

Soaking:

1. Prepare the solution and check the pH and temperature

2. Circulate the solution in the filtration unit for 60 to 120 minutes

3. Finish the treatment with a disinfection stage suitable for the type of germs/micro-organisms targeted
